Phil Mickelson, John Daly highlight notable PGA Tour players to miss the cut at 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Phil Mickelson sent shockwaves through the golf world last month when he said if he doesn’t play well early on this year that he’ll “start to re-evaluate” his PGA Tour future and instead tee it up more on the PGA Tour Champions.
That day might be coming sooner rather than later for Lefty.
The 50-year-old struggled again this week, missing the cut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after rounds of 74-80 to finish 10 over, 11 shots out of the weekend. A five-time winner of the event, Mickelson’s Friday 80 was just the 10th time in 2,207 rounds on Tour that he failed to break 80.
That said, Mickelson wasn’t the only notable player who struggled this week on the Monterey Peninsula.

Rickie Fowler, +3
The struggle is real for Fowler these days. Rounds of 72 at Pebble Beach and 75 at Spyglass Hill weren't enough for Fowler to make the weekend for the second consecutive event after he missed last week's cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The five-time winner on Tour has fallen to 63rd on the Official World Golf Ranking.

John Daly, +13
Big John hit it hard and often this weekend in his return to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he's exempt for life due to winning a major prior to 2000. Daly, rocking a beard, put together rounds of 80-77 with this nifty birdie mixed in. https://twitter.com/GolfChannel/status/1360340866548793352
Kamaiu Johnson, +14
Imagine getting your PGA Tour break, then having to withdraw due to COVID-19. For Kamaiu Johnson, that was his reality after testing positive for the virus ahead of the Farmers Insurance Open. A product of the Advocates Pro Golf Association Tour, a non-profit organization that prepares African Americans and other minority golfers to compete professionally, and winner of the organization's Tour Championship in 2020, Johnson got healthy and then received a second chance. His reward: testy rounds at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. Johnson struggled in his debut, but if you know his story, he'll be back.

David Duval, +7
Nobody expects the 49-year-old to go out and contend on the Tour these days, but after Patrick Cantlay tied Duval and Tom Kite's course record on Thursday, it brought the 15-time winner on Tour and former world No. 1 back into the conversation.
