FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — It took almost a full four days, but we finally got a hole-in-one at the PGA Championship.

Lucas Bjerregaard of Denmark aced the par-3 17th hole at Bethpage Black on Sunday afternoon. The hole was playing at 206 yards and Bjerregaard was using six-iron.

Bjerregaard didn’t even use up all of the magic on the hole because playing partner Lucas Glover holed out from the bunker just a few minutes later.

The 17th at Bethpage is surrounded by two big grandstands and two embankments of hospitality suites making for the rowdiest hole on the course. It’ll definitely be one of the most dramatic and action-packed holes when the 2024 Ryder Cup comes calling.

Bjerregaard’s ace is the second hole-in-one on the 17th in major history. Scott Hoch also aced the same hole at the 2002 U.S. Open.
