PFF believes Jordan Addison will be Rookie WR1 in fantasy

The Minnesota Vikings have undergone a minor overhaul in their wide receiver room.

After releasing Adam Thielen in free agency, the Vikings selected USC’s Jordan Addison in the first round. With the Vikings using their first pick on him, Addison will likely see a lot of targets this season.

Pro Football Focus seemed to agree with that statement.

PFF writer Trevor Sikkema recently wrote a piece with one major takeaway from each NFL team. For the Vikings, Sikkema believes that Addison will be the highest-scoring rookie wide receiver in fantasy football.

With Adam Thielen gone, the Vikings knew they had to make a splash at receiver at some point in the draft. They did so with their first-round pick, and with it they acquired one of the most ready-made route runners the draft had to offer. As a former Biletnikoff Award winner, Addison knows how to handle being the focal point of a passing attack. He should be able to step in right away and take on some or all of the 107 targets Thielen saw on this team last season.

Addison enters the best situation out of any rookie wide receiver. Unlike some of the other rookie receivers, Addison is likely the number two target in an offense that might need to pass the ball a lot. As a result, Addison will likely earn a lot of touches throughout the season.
