The performances from Jackson and Peters caught the eye of Football Morning In America's Peter King, who named each in his Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
The second-year QB threw for three touchdowns, 223 yards, and just two incompletions, finishing the day with his second perfect 158.3 passer rating of the season. On top of all of that, he added a jaw-dropping 47-yard touchdown run that defied physics.
"Lamar Jackson played close to a perfect game Sunday, and he is on the verge of knocking Russell Wilson from his MVP perch," King wrote. "At age 22."
While Jackson dazzled, the Ravens defense was also stout against Cincinnati, particularly cornerback Marcus Peters. In just three games with Baltimore, Peters recorded his second pick-six.
Since he entered the NFL in 2015, Peters leads the league in defensive touchdowns with seven.
"Peters baited his second quarterback in three weeks as a Raven (Russell Wilson got baited in Peters game one), and had his second pick-six in three games," King wrote. "Not bad for a trade that cost the Ravens a fifth-round pick and a backup linebacker."
The Ravens were expected to beat the winless Bengals, but in the fashion they did it was very impressive. Since falling to the Browns in Week 4, Baltimore has won five straight and is now just one game behind New England for the AFC's top slot.
If Jackson and Peters keep up their impressive play, there's no telling how far this team can go.
