New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso hosted a Homers for Heroes Home Run Derby at Maimonides Park on Monday night. It brought together kids from the five boroughs of New York at the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones in Coney Island. The kids put on an impressive display, with Alonso cheering them on. Then the two-time Home Run Derby champion capped off the evening by unloading a few bombs of his own. Alonso: 'We love New York and we want to continue to give back to the community'.
