Pella wraps up indoor meets at Central

Mar. 18—PELLA — The Pella track and field teams wrapped up the indoor portion of their seasons on Friday and Saturday at Kuyper Fieldhouse at Central College.

The two days were highlighted by Pella's Hansen King securing himself a spot at the Drake Relays. King had a throw of 57-3.5 in the shot put to eclipse the Blue Standard.

Other top five finishes on the day included the 4x800 of Stephen Gaul, Mason Gaulke, Canaan Dunham and Nathan Vander Waal winning with a time of 8:31.42. Dunham went on to take second in the 400 at 53.93 with Vander Waal not far behind in fifth with his time of 55.06. Jonah Ebersole also grabbed fifth in the 3200 at 10:44.67.

The girls were next up on Saturday and they were once again limited by a squad missing some key names due to spring break. Despite that, the Lady Dutch still grabbed a handful of top five finishes.

Leading the way was Jacie Trine taking second in the 200 at 27.03. Pella had two in the top five in the 800 with Macy Schroeder taking fourth at 2:33.87 and Ruth Dunham following in fifth at 2:38.58.
