Pelicans F Davis breaks left hand

New Orleans power forward Anthony Davis suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left hand Sunday during the Pelicans' 103-99 win over the New York Knicks.

The Pelicans did not have a timetable for when Davis might return to action.

Davis, 20, entered the game at Madison Square Garden leading the NBA in blocked shots at 3.87 per game. He also was seventh in rebounds per game (10.6).

Before he leaving Sunday's game, Davis had seven points, four rebounds and no blocks in 10 minutes of action.

Davis was the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft after leading Kentucky to a national title in his lone collegiate season. As a rookie, Davis averaged 13.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. This season, he is averaging 18.8 points per game.

Pelicans power forward Ryan Anderson, who came off the bench to score a game-high 31 points Sunday, likely will replace Davis in the starting lineup.
