LIZ LOZA: Are the Patriots? I mean, Jarrett Stidham's not new. He had a great pre-season. He beat Hoyer out for the job. I may be-- I am-- I am writing a piece about offseason-- overlooked offseason winners, and I may have drank too much of Dalton's 4% juice when-- when looking at the Patriots here. But everything's the same.

ANDY BEHRENS: I know. I think that's actually a really-- like, your knee-jerk reaction with the Patriots is that-- is that things are so different, 'cause you're like, well, Gronkowski's gone and Brady's gone. But like, Brady was like a caretaker last year. I mean, the numbers were fine, but what was it, like 6 and 1/2 yards per pass attempt? And he didn't turn the ball over a lot, but he wasn't-- you know, it was not a crazy touchdown total. He was not some crazy fantasy scorer.

Is that-- you know, can Stidham be 90% of that? Can he be 85% of that? If he can, that defense was great. Everyone is--

LIZ LOZA: And they're all coming back.

ANDY BEHRENS: Yeah, they're--

LIZ LOZA: All that defense is coming back.

ANDY BEHRENS: They're-- they're running it back, basically, on both sides of ball, with the exception of perhaps the greatest quarterback in the history of the game. And like, everything we've seen about this offseason suggests that Belichick has confidence in Stidham. They would have-- they would have certainly taken a flyer at one of the veteran quarterbacks by now if-- if that wasn't the case. So it sets up reasonably well.
