Patrick Queen officially ends ‘joke’ to pry No. 8 away from Lamar Jackson

With the NFL passing a rule that will ease jersey number restrictions throughout the league, Baltimore Ravens players have been having fun with the possibility of switching to something new. One of those players for Baltimore is Patrick Queen, who wore No. 8 during his time at LSU. However, his college number is currently taken by Lamar Jackson, which could pose a few problems for Queen in his quest to acquire No. 8.

Queen and Jackson went back and forth on Twitter for much of the day on Wednesday after the owners approved the new rule.

Many wondered how much it would ultimately take for Queen to convince Jackson to give his number up. Some even gave their thoughts on what the encounter could look like, which the linebacker found to be funny.

After having a day of fun on Twitter with the possibility of switching back to his old number, Queen officially ended what he called a “joke”, and appears to be eyeing another single digit number.

The only single digit numbers available in Baltimore at this point are No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5. Everything else has already been taken by other players, so although Queen currently hasn’t specified what other jersey he’s eying, it appears that it will be one of the three listed above. Over the coming weeks and months there will plenty of players across the NFL who change their jersey numbers, and Queen could very well be one of them.
