The only person who can beat Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is himself. Normally, that’s a cheesy sports cliché, but in this instance it’s 100 percent accurate.
Mahomes took a rare loss Monday while playing “Fortnite.” The 23-year-old wound up losing to himself. We’ll let him explain.
Yesterday i played fortnite for the first time in a while and someone killed me with my jersey on.. don’t know how i feel about it…

Mahomes says he was killed in “Fortnite” by another player wearing his jersey in the game.
But wait, it plot gets thicker. Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill claims he was the one who defeated Mahomes.
There’s no way for Hill to prove that, so you can decide whether to believe him.
“Fortnite” fans can buy NFL costumes for their avatars after the game and the NFL agreed to a partnership. “Fortnite” fans can purchase their favorite team’s uniform, and then customize the number to reflect their favorite player. Because we’re talking about the Internet here, “Fortnite” players quickly found a way to ruin a fun thing.
The Chiefs are 9-1 with Mahomes under center this season. He’s leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns, and is a prime MVP candidate right now.
While Mahomes’ defeat did not happen on the football field, we still have to give props to the person who took down Mahomes. That just doesn’t happen much these days.
Those looking to make fun of Mahomes for taking the “L” might want to reconsider. Mahomes may have lost at “Fortnite,” but he also kinda won.
