Patrick Beverley reacts to Sixers trading Filip Petrusev to Clippers

The Philadelphia 76ers pulled off a deal in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday to send James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s what he wanted all along and both sides can now move on after a tumultuous offseason and not playing in Philadelphia’s first three games of the season.

Along with Harden, the Sixers will send PJ Tucker and rookie Filip Petrusev to the Clippers in the deal. Philadelphia brought in Tucker in free agency in 2022 and Petrusev was a 2021 second-rounder before he spent a few seasons overseas.

Patrick Beverley took to Twitter to react to moving Petrusev. Beverley had stood up for Petrusev in a preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets when the rookie got into it with Ben Simmons and affectionately called him “Filip with an F”.

Beverley and Petrusev looked like they had developed a good rookie-veteran relationship, but it will be interesting to see how the Sixers now move forward. The return of Marcus Morris Sr., Nic Batum, Robert Covington, and KJ Martin plus a slew of draft picks could be flipped for another impact player.
