The Carolina Panthers will, apparently, keep the quarterback carousel running for their last Bank of America Stadium carnival in 2021. Hey, it’s only fitting, right?

On Saturday, the team officially activated Sam Darnold, who has missed the past five games due to a right shoulder fracture. Head coach Matt Rhule, as stated back on Tuesday, plans to play the fourth-year passer “at some point” in today’s contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Joining him back on the 53-man roster for the afternoon is defensive tackle Derrick Brown, an absentee from last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bills due to his placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list. But, as he comes off that shelf, seven will remain on it.

Carolina heads into their Week 16 tilt with seven players being shelved off this latest outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. Wide receiver Brandon Zylstra is the most recent Panther to feel the effects, as he was sent away on Sunday morning.

As a result, they’ll look for a little more out of, well, DJ Moore and company. Moore, who was listed as questionable for the matchup on Friday, is officially a go.

Also a go, with usual starting left tackle Cameron Erving now out with a calf injury, will be rookie Brady Christensen on the blindside.

Here’s, however, who’s not:

QB P.J. Walker
LB Kamal Martin
DE Frank Herron
DT Phil Hoskins
LT Cameron Erving
DE Darryl Johnson

And here’s who’s down for the visiting Bucs:

QB Kyle Trask
P Bradley Pinion
WR Mike Evans
CB Pierre Desir
S Antoine Winfield Jr.
OLB Jason Pierre-Paul
