Panther hoopsters hand Hudson first district loss, punch ticket to playoffs

Feb. 14—BULLARD — Bullard prevented Hudson from going undefeated in district play by defeating the Hornets, 58-52, in the regular season finale Tuesday night at Panther Gymnasium.

With the victory the Panthers also earned a playoff berth. Bullard will represent District 18-4A as its No. 4 seed.

The Panthers (20-14, 4-6) will do battle against Chapel Hill (27-4, 12-0), the No. 1 seed out of District 17-4A, in the bi-district round of the Class 4A, Region II playoffs.

That game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, at Tyler Junior College's Wagstaff Gymnasium.

Chapel Hill is coached by former Jacksonville assistant boy's basketball coach A.J. Johnson.
