Panda Global has released part four of its Smash 4 Top 50 players rankings, and some big names are popping up.
The latest list ranks Nos. 20-11, and includes two more Japanese players and two Evo top 8 finalists, including Panda Global’s own Pikachu player Eric “ESAM” Lew.
Circa eSports’ Wesley “6WX” Alexander checks in as the 20th best Smash 4 player. The Sonic main has notable victories over MVD (who was ranked 21) and ESAM. He finished 4th at Apex 2015 and 33rd at Evo 2015. His X-factor rating is a negative nine, meaning the Smash 4 panel of peers rated him nine spots lower than Panda Global’s rating system.
Two of Japan’s best players, Bayonetta main Yuya “9B” Araki and Sonic/Cloud main R. “Komorikiri” Furukawa, landed at the 17th and 11th spots on the list, respectively. Neither has traveled to many North American events, but both had solid showings at GENESIS 3 in January.
ESAM, whose voice can be heard narrating the Panda Global Rankings videos, is ranked 14th. He finished in fifth place at CEO 2015, seventh at Evo 2015, and 13th at GENESIS 3. He was once considered top five in the U.S., but has struggled against Mario mains and some of the newer players coming into the scene.
You can watch the video breaking down Nos. 21-10. If you missed the previous entries in the top 50 Smash 4 players, you can catch up on Nos. 50-41, 40-31, and 30-21, which somewhat shockingly featured Echo Fox’s Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman ranked 28th. The top ten are expected to be revealed Friday, May 27.
