Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove gifted a lifetime supply of Ballast Point beer after tossing historic no-hitter

Hometown hero Joe Musgrove was handsomely rewarded after tossing the first no-hitter in San Diego Padres franchise history.

San Diego's Ballast Point Brewing Co. said Saturday that Musgrove, who is from San Diego, "deserves to never pay for a beer in this town again" and was gifted a lifetime supply of beer — from any Ballast Point location.

"How cool is this?" Musgrove said in a video released by Ballast Point, a locally funded brewery. "Holy cow, that's free beer for life right there. It's my favorite spot too.

"Thank you, Ballast Point. It will get used well, I promise."

Musgrove tossed the historic no-hitter April 9 against Texas Rangers in their 3-0 win.

It was the first no-hitter in the 8,206 games played by the Padres, going back to April 8, 1969, when the expansion franchise played its inaugural game.

So what's in store for Chicago White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon, who tossed a no-hitter five days later?
