Packers place OL Lane Taylor on IR, release OLB Greg Roberts from PS

The Green Bay Packers finally put offensive lineman Lane Taylor on injured reserve on Tuesday, nearly 10 days after he tore his ACL in the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

Taylor, the starter at right guard in Week 1, is expected to miss the rest of the 2020 season. He has an expiring contract and will be an unrestricted free agent next spring.

The Packers didn’t immediately fill his roster spot.

GM Brian Gutekunst did make an adjustment to the practice squad, releasing outside linebacker Greg Roberts.

The Packers now have an open spot on both the active 53-man roster and 16-player practice squad.

Taylor came back from after missing 14 games last season and earned a starting job along the offensive line during training camp. If he misses the entire season, Taylor will have missed 29 of the Packers’ last 32 games.

Roberts, an undrafted free agent signed after the 2019 draft, never played in a game for the Packers.
