Packers place 6 more players on non-football injury list, including Za’Darius Smith and Kevin King

The Green Bay Packers will be without a handful of veteran players when training camp kicks off on Wednesday.

The team placed outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith, cornerback Kevin King, defensive lineman Kingsley Keke, safety Will Redmond, outside linebacker Tipa Galeai and safety Henry Black on the non-injury football list on Tuesday, per the league’s transaction wire.

The non-football injury list is for players that are injured outside of practices or games. Teams conduct physicals on players to start training camp, and the six players above reported to camp with pre-existing injuries.

Players can come off the list at any time once medically cleared by the team.

The Packers will also be without left tackle David Bakhtiari (PUP), tight end Josiah Deguara (PUP), running back Patrick Taylor (PUP), linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (NFI) and linebacker Ray Wilborn (COVID-19 reserve) to start training camp. In total, the Packers have 11 players with designations to start camp.
