Packers host tryout for 3 players, including former Bears LB Charles Snowden

The Green Bay Packers were unable to complete a trade before Tuesday’s deadline, but the team did host a tryout for three different players.

Among the tryout players was former Chicago Bears edge rusher Charles Snowden.

The other two were defensive linemen: Jordan Williams (Virginia Tech) and Austin Faoliu (Oregon).

The Packers met with Snowden (6-7, 240) before the 2021 draft. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent and eventually played in two regular-season games with the team during the 2021 season. The Bears waived him in August and he’s been without a team since.

Williams went undrafted in 2022. A Clemson transfer, Williams (6-5, 285) produced four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks over 12 games during his final season at Virginia Tech. He signed with the Miami Dolphins after the draft.

Faoliu (6-3, 292) went undrafted in 2021 but signed with the Dallas Cowboys after the draft. He played in two games last season but was waived in August.

The Packers released outside linebacker Kobe Jones from the practice squad on Tuesday, but that spot is likely going to running back Patrick Taylor, who was released from the 53-man roster but should return.
