Gender reveals are all the rage these days. This is nothing new among athletes. We’ve seen Kirk Cousins put a football spin on the trend, while Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman brought it to baseball.

The NBA now has its own signature gender reveal video, and it’s better than any athlete-related ones we’ve seen thus far. Indiana Pacers guard Damien Wilkins found out he was having a baby boy by looking up at the Jumbotron during a game!

The reveal took place during Wednesday night’s 98-94 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Wilkins’ double-take reaction is 100 percent genuine. He told For the Win he had no idea what was going on. Even when he saw his fiancée on the court, he assumed it was for some trivia segment. She completely surprised him with the reveal.

Wilkins isn’t the only NBA player getting in on the gender reveal act. Detroit Pistons guard Langston Galloway and his wife revealed they were having a boy following Tuesday’s game. Andre Drummond covered the festivities in a video. Galloway dunked a ball, revealing a bunch of blue confetti.

Galloway’s gender reveal was more in line with what you would expect to see from a basketball player. Wilkins’ seems totally unique. It happened during a timeout while a game was being played!

Can sports-related gender reveals get better after this? Until Todd Gurley scores a touchdown and then spikes the ball to reveal his baby’s gender in the Super Bowl, we’re leaning toward no.
