How the NBA in-season tournament works

All 30 teams played four games, with 8 teams (3 group winners and 1 wild card from each conference) advancing to a single-elimination knockout round. The semifinals and finals will be played in Las Vegas, with the champion crowned Dec. 9.

Teams that didn't make the knockout round or are eliminated before the championship will play games Dec. 4-9. All of these games count toward the 82-game regular season.

The Pacers' title game does not count toward their regular-season record, but every member of the winning team Saturday night gets $500,000.
