PJ Hairston signs with Virginia Dream of TBT

Former North Carolina Tar Heel PJ Hairston will be back on the court; he is joining the Virginia Dream for the The Basketball Tournament this summer.

Hairston was one of the six players announced as participants in the high-stakes summer tournament as event organizers kicked off what they call commitment week. The tournament’s winning team splits a grand prize of $1 million.

This is not Hairston’s first rodeo with event. In 2019, he hit a game-winner for Team CP3 over Tampa that sent social media into a frenzy.

Hairston is best known for his days playing for Roy Williams at UNC. Hairston came to the Tar Heels as a five-star recruit in the 2011 class.

After a slow freshman season, Hairston emerged during his second year, averaging 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals. His talents led him to be the 26th pick in the 2014 NBA draft.
