Over/Under Week 8 - Darrel Williams

Will the Kansas City RB go over/under 84.5 total yards in week 8?

Video Transcript

- All right, let's jump into our final over-under here-- it is on Daryl Williams, the Chiefs running back. Oh, man, we're going to get so much talk about the Chiefs offense, and are we so, so worried about a Patrick Mahomes unit. It's going to be such a treat, heading into this Monday night game. But we're going to set the line here for Darrell Williams at 84 and 1/2 total yards, and give me the over on this one.

Last week-- take that and just kind of toss it out of your mind, OK? That was a fluky situation where they fell behind the Tennessee Titans. Darrell Williams doesn't get work because they were in negative game script all day long. I do not think that is going to happen against the New York Giants on Monday night. I think this is, kind of, a get right game for the Chiefs offense at least. The defense-- hey, there ain't no hope for that, all right? That's not going to get right.

But I think the offense can get right here. You know, the Giants are 22nd ranked against run in defensive DVOA right now. So give me Darrell Williams in a really nice bounce back spot here. Minty, I can see it on your face, you're totally going to disagree with me on this.

- Of course. I have to go with a scary pick that no one wants to pick here. Although the Giants are one of the worst teams against the run, I feel like they step it up here this week. And we know Patrick Mahomes loves to air the ball out to Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce the most, so I don't think Darrell Williams gets that many touches. So I got to go under.

- Yeah, there was no trick in that surprise. And it definitely was not a treat there that you gave me, Minty. And that is a bummer. Liz, how do you feel about this one?

- So I think you're both making interesting points. But what I think is not being mentioned, is the fact that Daryl Williams has drawn four targets in back-to-back games. He's also running over 20 routes per game. So even if game script doesn't go the way that Vegas is intimating it will-- as the past few weeks have unfolded, right?

And we've all been, quote, "surprised." And it's fluky. And-- Patrick Mahomes is pressing, and things turn upside-down. Well, Daryl Williams is still involved. He's still involved in the passing game. And we've heard time and time again, all over sports talk radio, that the Chiefs can't find their number three option. Well, maybe, it's their damn running back. Maybe he's the check down option in this offensive-- behind this offensive line that has been reworked to no benefit.

So I am going to take the over. I don't think this is a hard line for him to pass, because it's total scrimmage yards.
