Over/Under Week 10 - Odell Beckham Jr.

Will the Rams' new receiver go over/under 5.5 receptions in week 10?

Video Transcript

MATT: All right, Odell Beckham. Back in our lives. Back in the mainstream focus with the LA Rams. And I mean, you could maybe be conservative with this whole thing up until Robert Woods.

What a turn of fate. Just ACL goes the day after the signing. Unbelievable. We are going to set the line at Odell Beckham's Rams debut on Monday Night at five and a half catches. Minty, [? Liz, ?] you know, I think that life is too short to take unders.

- [LAUGHS]

MATT: Life is not good when you're manifesting that negative under energy. But I mean, five would have been my number. Five was a perfect number. So I am going to go under on this one.

I hate it. I don't like it. I think Van Jefferson can have the bigger game. I will probably look stupid if they start funneling little early targets to Odell to get him in rhythm, to make him happy, the whole thing.

But it's his first week. It's a good match-up. But I guess I'll go under here. But I hate it. Minty, tell me why I'm right on this, though, because I know you will.

MINTY: Oh, Matt. You are right. And don't hate it--

- Oh, man. [LAUGHS]

MINTY: --yourself for doing it. I mean, the guy has only recorded five catches. I mean, wait, the guy has not exceeded five catches all this season at all. Last year, he hit the over in most of his games played.

However, you're right. It's his first start with the Rams. Stafford has other reliable receivers to throw to. So I think we're going to be pretty underwhelmed with how much we see OBJ on the field today. Got to go under.

MATT: [? Liz, ?] I definitely will take the over on mentions of Odell Beckham's name on Monday Night Football. But are you taking the under or over on the catches total we got here?

- So interestingly, I wrote in my notes, if the line were four and a half, I'd take the over because I'm expecting around five catches, which seems to be in line with you, right? Yeah. It is a lot to ask him to make it-- or [? yeah, ?] six targets.

But six completions, even without Bobby Trees in the mix, is asking an awful lot. I know that San Francisco is letting third receivers get loose for DVOA. But I think that's more about production versus number of catches. I, too, am going to take the under. And I, too, have Van Jefferson inside my top 35.
