Galvis will replace Iglesias, who was traded to the Los Angeles Angels in December in exchange for right-handed pitchers Garrett Stallings and Jean Pinto. Last season, Iglesias slashed .373/.400/.956 with 17 doubles, three home runs and 24 RBI.
Galvis, 31, joins the Orioles coming off a disappointing 2020 season for the Reds. For the season, the shortstop played in 47 games, slashing .220/.308/.712 with seven home runs and 16 RBIs.
