The Mets family unfortunately lost one of its original members in Roger Craig, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 93.

Craig played 12 seasons at the big-league level.

He made his major league debut during the 1955 season with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He remained with the Dodgers until the Mets selected him in the 1962 expansion draft.

Craig spent two seasons back in New York donning the orange and blue, where he threw a combined 27 complete games and recorded 226 strikeouts.

He went on to play three more seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Philadelphia Phillies before hanging up the spikes.

After Craig's playing days were done, he became a successful pitching coach and then manager with the Padres and Giants. His 586 wins are sixth-most in Giants history and third-most in the San Francisco era.
