Well, that was quick. After losing their bottom lane to G2, EU LCS squad Origen has replaced the duo with Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou-Napoleon and Glenn “Hybrid” Doornenbal.
Interestingly, FORG1VEN had previously stated that he did not intend to play in the 2016 Summer Split after his former team H2k finished fourth in the EU LCS playoffs. But now, apparently, he’s been convinced otherwise. The immensely talented AD carry has had a long career in Europe and has become respected as one of the best in the world at his role. And yet, he still hasn’t had the opportunity to compete at a major international event.
Hybrid, on the other hand, has just come off an unsuccessful run at the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational with G2, where the team failed to get out of the group stages. Now, he’ll be playing against his replacement, former Origen support Alfonso “mithy” Aguirre Rodriguez, once the two squads face each other. mithy will be joined by fellow former Origen member Zven on G2.
Origen has yet to formally announce the roster change, but Riot Games’ official esports site Lolesports has the change confirmed on the Origen team page.
Taylor Cocke is very happy that FORG1VEN has another chance to play with a quality squad, as the AD carry deserves another shot at Worlds. Follow Taylor Cocke on Twitter @taylorcocke.
