How the Oregon Ducks performed in Week 9 of the NFL
Week 9 was a busy week for the Oregon Ducks in the NFL. Former Ducks’ safety, Jevon Holland, kicked things off early Sunday morning with the Dolphins’ matchup against the Chiefs in Germany. DeForest Buckner and the Colts’ defense handled Carolina. And, the week was capped off with Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers taking down the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
The NFL is now halfway through its season and several Ducks’ have their teams in playoff contention. Holland and the Dolphins lead their division, Deommodore Lenoir, Arik Armstead, and the 49ers are 3rd in the NFC, and Justin Herbert’s Chargers are one game back from a Wild Card spot in the AFC.

Justin Herbert - Chargers QB
Stats: 16/30 (53.3% completion rate), 153 yards, 1 fumble
The Chargers beat the Jets 27-6 on Monday Night Football, but Justin Herbert has had better days at QB.
Jevon Holland - Dolphins S
Stats: 2 solo tackles, 6 assists
Jevon Holland’s total of eight tackles was a team-high but the Dolphins were unable to beat the Chiefs in Germany.
Kayvon Thibodeaux - Giants Edge
Stats: 1solo tackle
After a monster day in Week 8, Kayvon Thibodeaux wasn’t able to do much in Week 9. The Giants lost to the Rams 30-6.
Deforest Buckner - Colts DT
Juwan Johnson - Saints TE
Stats: 5 catches, 29 yards, 1 TD
Juwan Johnson had his best performance in a while this weekend in the Saints’ win over Chicago. Johnson’s total of five receptions was his season-high.
Royce Freeman - Rams RB
Stats; 12 carries, 32 yards
Royce Freeman got a lot of touches in his third game with Los Angeles, which the Rams went on to win.
DJ Johnson - Panthers Rookie LB
Stats: 3 assists
DJ Johnson picked up three tackles in Week 9, but per usual, the Panthers lost by several scores.
Troy Hill - Panthers CB
Stats: 1 solo tackle, 1 assist
Troy Hill picked up two tackles this weekend for the Carolina defense, but the Panthers still lost.
