Oregon Ducks Director of Player Personnel moving on from program originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest
On top of Andy Avalos leaving to become Boise State's new head coach, the Oregon Ducks football program will need to replace another key member of the staff.
Director of Player Personnel Thomas Arends announced via Twitter he's leaving football to join the Arends Realty Group in Sisters, OR.
After 12 years with both @oregonfootball & @BUFootball I’ve decided to pursue new opportunities. It’s been an honor working with all the coaches, support staff, families and recruits that I’ve met along the way.

Arends has worked in football for 12 years, 11 of which were with Oregon. In 2017, he worked under Matt Rhule at Baylor before returning to Oregon under Mario Cristobal. He began working with the program as a student intern in 2009 and was promoted to being Director of Recruiting Operations and High School Relations for Mark Helfrich in 2016.
His job responsibilities under his current title involved maintaining Oregon's NFL relations and helping with recruiting.
Best of luck with the new endeavor, Coach!
