One week after de-committing from Syracuse, Syair Torrence is offered by Rutgers football

One of the top athletes in New York received an offer from Rutgers football on Thursday night. Syair Torrence, a class of 2024 recruit, counts Rutgers as his second Big Ten offer.

The offer from Rutgers is the first to come in for Torrence since he de-committed from Syracuse in early February. He is ranked the fifth-best recruit in New York by 247Sports.

He is also the No. 82 wide receiver recruit in the nation in the 247Sports Composite. At 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, Torrence is coming off a strong junior season for Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse, N.Y.). where he showed his ability to be a playmaker.

He has good speed but his footwork and balance is what most stands out, allowing him to make quick turns and cuts once he gets the ball in his hands.

In late April, Torrence was offered by Michigan State. Two weeks later, he would re-open his commitment.

The standout wide receiver posted on social media about his Rutgers football offer.
