Tom Brady will "absolutely" use Chase Young's comments as motivation originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Following the Washington Football Team's 20-14 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles that sent them to the playoffs, rookie star defensive end Chase Young wasted no time looking ahead shouting “Tom Brady! Tom Brady, I’m coming! I want Tom! I want Tom!” as he ran off Lincoln Financial Field.

So will the 43-year-old veteran use the rookie comments as extra motivation?

According to NBC Sports Boston’s New England Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran, Brady will “absolutely” use this as motivation.

“He [Brady] has so much respect for his fellow NFL players, and I’m positive that Chase Young is someone that he enjoys watching,” Curran said. “But any time somebody says ‘I want you’ the perception is ‘He wants me, he thinks I’m 43 and I can’t handle him.’ He’s [Young] going in the same bag as the JJ Watts, the Julius Peppers, and everybody else. And it’s going to be up to Chase Young to make sure he doesn’t end up in that bag.”

It’s no doubt every edge rusher in the league hopes to sack Tom Brady in their career, and Young will get his chance Saturday night as Washington pursues their first home playoff win since 1999.

Washington Football Team face Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Saturday at 8:15 p.m. on NBC as part of Super Wild Card Weekend. Coverage for Washington Football Team starts at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington Plus and the MyTeams app.
