South Korean speedskaters have a spotty history with Apolo Anton Ohno. He won a gold in Salt Lake City after Kim Dong-Sung was disqualified for blocking, a charge that Dong-Sung vehemently denies. But tonight, the South Koreans have no one to blame but themselves for missing out on a sweep of the 1500m.
Heading into the final lap, Jung-Su Lee was in the lead with Si-Bak Sung and Ho-Suk Lee closely following. Americans Ohno and J.R. Celski were seemingly too far behind to win any medals when Ho-Suk Lee slipped, taking out Sung and opening the door for Ohno to take silver and Celski to take the bronze.
