Naperville (Ill.) Central junior offensive guard prospect Luke Hallstrom (6-foot-3, 280 pounds) was able to make a game day visit to Miami of Ohio last Saturday. Hallstrong talks about his season so far along with his visit to the Home of the Redhawks here.
"I was able to go see Miami of Ohio on Saturday along with Payton (Thorne)," Hallstrom said. "It was a good chance to see Miami of Ohio in person and get to know the coaches and get to learn more about the school."
Hallstrom filled us in on his impressions from his first visit to Miami of Ohio.
"It was my first visit to Miami of Ohio and overall it was a great experience. We arrived, checked in and got our passes then we had a tour of the facilities including seeing the brand new indoor facility. We also had a chance to eat and then meet with the Miami of Ohio coaches before the game. I was able to talk to offensive line coach (George Barnett) then we got to stand on the sidelines for pregame warmups. I had a really good experience. It was a big rivalry game against Cincinnati so they had a great crowd and atmosphere. The Miami coaches asked me to stay in touch and that they will be keep track of me."
So which schools have been reaching out to Hallstrom since September 1st?
"Besides Miami of Ohio I've also been in touch with coaches from Ball State, Western Michigan and a few other schools. I'm hoping to get a chance to go visit Western Michigan sometime this season for a game."
Hallstrom is also excited about the state-ranked Redhawks (4-0) remainder of the season.
"We have been playing pretty well so far this season. The chemistry on this team is really strong and winning just makes it even more special. Last year was my first year on varsity so I just feel more confident. I'm also stronger and just better this season."
