Oklahoma Sooners offer 2024 4-star linebacker James Nesta
The Oklahoma Sooners have been busy issuing offers to a group of prospects from the next few recruiting cycles.
One of their more recent offers went to 2024 four-star linebacker James Nesta out of Cornelius, North Carolina.
Nesta plays a mix of outside linebacker and edge at Williams Amos Hough High School. He shows a comfort level dropping into coverage and playing in space. He’s a terror off the edge when asked to rush the passer and plays with physicality. He’s not simply looking to make the play or make a tackle but to punish the opposition. He looks like a natural fit for Brent Venables’ cheetah position with his athleticism and size.
Nesta is a four-star linebacker in both the On3 industry rankings and the 247Sports composite. He is a top 12 player in the state of North Carolina.
His recruitment has picked up considerably since the beginning of February: He has landed 13 offers in that span. Notable schools in pursuit are Tennessee, USC, Miami, North Carolina, Duke, NC State and Wake Forest.
