OKC Thunder buyout JaMychal Green, intends to sign with the Warriors

The Oklahoma City Thunder have parted ways with JaMychal Green in the form of a buyout, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Green will sign with the Golden State Warriors once he clears waivers.

The Thunder acquired Green and a 2027 protected first-round pick in a trade with the Denver Nuggets this past June for the 2022 NBA draft No. 30 pick.

Green subsequently picked up his $8.2 million player option. When asked about his future with the team, Thunder general manager Sam Presti said the team will work with Green to ship him off to another team.

Green now gets a chance to be a rotation player for the 2022 NBA champion Warriors.

The 32-year-old averaged 6.4 points on 48.6 percent shooting and 4.2 rebounds in 67 games last season.
