Odafe Oweh signs rookie contract with Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens made edge defender Odafe Oweh the 31st overall selection in the 2021 draft. The team seemingly likes his athletic traits along with his potential to become a dominant edge rusher at the NFL level, prompting them to take a flyer on his raw talent.

On Friday, it was announced that Oweh had officially signed his rookie contract with Baltimore. The team put out a picture on social media of Oweh and head coach John Harbaugh with the two of them being all smiles.

Oweh will be tasked with picking up some of the production that the Ravens lost during 2021 free agency in Matthew Judon, Yannick Ngakoue, and Jihad Ward. He is already sound in coverage and against the run, but his athletic tools can make it so that with the right coaching and guidance, he could develop into a star pass rusher.

With Oweh signing his rookie deal, Baltimore currently has just two players from their 2021 draft class who remain unsigned in third-round picks Ben Cleveland and Brandon Stephens.
