Obituary: Man's illness 'exacerbated by the condition of the Browns'
An Ohio man’s cheeky obituary blamed the dreadful Cleveland Browns for accelerating his death.
The obituary for Paul Stark, who died this week, ran in the Sandusky Register.
“Paul Stark passed away Dec. 27, 2017, of complications from a brief illness, exacerbated by the hopeless condition of the Cleveland Browns, at Stein Hospice, Sandusky,” the notice began.
It went on to say, “Paul passed just before the Browns were prepared to turn the corner, but had many well-earned blessings. Paul believed in paying it forward, and the goodwill he leaves behind will endure long after he’s gone.”
There are likely many Browns fans who believe, as Mr. Stark did, that Cleveland is preparing to turn the corner. Cleveland plays the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, hoping to avoid the ignominy of becoming the second 0-16 team in NFL history. They’ve won just four games since the start of the 2015 season.
Mr. Stark spent his career as a surveyor, and was married to his wife, Susan, for 52 years.
