Nylander staying with Penguins, gets one-year contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins are keeping forward Alex Nylander for at least one more year.

And he isn’t likely to spend it commuting between Western Pennsylvania and Wilkes-Barre, the way he did during the waning weeks of the 2022-23 season, because the contract he accepted Saturday is a one-way deal which will carry a salary-cap hit of $775,000, regardless of whether he is with the parent club or in the American Hockey League.
