Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman unsurprisingly gains national honor

Although many of us had an idea of what Notre Dame football transfer Sam Hartman would bring to the table, we still needed to see it against an opponent.

The graduate transfer carved up the Navy defense, throwing for 251 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Irish to 42 points. That performance earned Hartman the distinction of the Reese’s Senior Bowl offensive player of the week.

This might just be the beginning of awards for Hartman, as he finally has a defense that can back up his impressive offensive play. Oh, and lest we forget he’s now playing on a national stage for the Irish.

The Irish will get back to the field this weekend at home against Tennessee State, in a game they will be heavy favorites once again. Expect Hartman to put up similar numbers like he did against Navy this coming Saturday.
