Notre Dame quarterback out for spring game

Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner will not play in this Saturday’s Blue-Gold Game as he’ll be sidelined with an ankle injury. That announcement was made Wednesday morning before the draft for the annual spring game took place.

According to Marcus Freeman, the sophomore quarterback twisted his ankle on Tuesday while walking down a flight of stairs.

Junior quarterback Drew Pyne, who is the other horse in the race to be Notre Dame’s starting quarterback this fall, will spend time playing for both squads in Saturday’s game.

Buchner was seen in a walking boot on Wednesday ahead of the Blue-Gold Game draft.
