Notre Dame loses key defender for Gator Bowl

When Notre Dame puts a bow on the 2022 football season in Friday’s Gator Bowl they’ll do so without one of their mainstays on defense. Defensive lineman Jayson Ademilola will miss the contest due to an injury.

Marcus Freeman announced the news Thursday in his last media availability before the game. Freeman also added that safety Brandon Joseph is questionable with an ankle injury.

For Ademilola it makes the end of the road for his time in blue and gold. The graduate is out of eligibility after opting to return to school this past season. His absence Friday will be a small gateway to the holes that need filled on the defensive line by the start of 2023 for Notre Dame.

Despite the tough news, it seems Ademilola was still able to enjoy his time in Jacksonville.
