Notre Dame leprechaun gets laid out during ACC mascot game

It hasn’t been a particularly strong year for Notre Dame in the ACC. The team’s record might be 20-13 overall, but they’ve struggled during conference games, where they are 8-10.

Those struggles aren’t limited to the team, either. During the ACC’s annual mascot game, the Notre Dame leprechaun got stiff-armed to the floor by the North Carolina mascot while trying to take a charge.

It was quite the sight. Who hasn’t dreamed of a person in a huge ram suit running over a man in a leprechaun outfit?

Unfortunately for the Notre Dame leprechaun, the refs tend to be a little lax during the mascot game. You can see him get off the floor looking for a foul, but the call never came.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise. The mascot game is far from the most serious basketball event on the planet. For all we know, someone could try to dunk Otto the Syracuse Orange and that wouldn’t warrant a whistle.
