'No real room for error in title shootout'

I cannot wait for club football to return. The international break seems to have gone on forever now, but it has allowed several Rangers players to rest before the three pre-split games.

Unfortunately, Ridvan Yilmaz looks to have picked up an injury playing for Turkey and could be a doubt for Saturday against Hibs – I hope he’s fit and ready to play as he’s been in excellent form since the winter break.

He’s been like a new signing in many ways and we can now see why the outlay was spent to bring him in from Besiktas.

Hibs will cause us some issues and even though Martin Boyle is out, their front four seem to be combining well and they took Livingston apart last time out, so we will have to be on our guard defensively to make sure there is no repeat of the Motherwell defeat.

The three points are all that matters, with performance very much secondary to the result. We have to make sure we go back to the top of the league before Celtic play on Sunday. It’s getting to the stage where there is no real room for error.

It’s basically an eight-game shootout for the title now, and it’s exciting - we’ve not had a title race like this for a long time. Saturday cannot come quick enough for it to resume.
