‘No real discussions’ between Boston Celts and Brooklyn Nets on Kevin Durant, says new report
In a recent preseason primer, the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach threw plenty of cold water on recent trade rumors surrounding the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. According to a new report, Brooklyn and Boston are not anywhere close to nearing a deal that would land superstar Kevin Durant in green. This comes following weeks of speculation following multiple, sometimes conflicting reports from national media.
Himmelsbach stated, “there have not even been any real discussions of substance” between the two teams. Previous reporting from other sources suggested Boston and Brooklyn had engaged on some level, though the nature of those talks was unclear.
According to Himmelsbach, however, “there have not even been any real discussions of substance” between the organizations.

Following Durant’s trade demand from the Nets, speculation mounted about where the former MVP may land.
As one of the best players to ever hit the trade market and with four years remaining on his deal, Brooklyn’s reported asking price has been understandably steep.
Finding a suitable trade package has been difficult, to say the least.
It’s a development that will keep teams paying plenty of attention to the situation in Brooklyn very closely until some kind of resolution is found. https://t.co/VH8M6IEfM9

The Nets are seeking established, star-level players. Jaylen Brown’s name has been mentioned here more than once.
For his part, KD reportedly favors Boston as one of his top destinations. It appears much of the trade rumors regarding the Nets and Celtics are coming from beyond the Hub. Perhaps this new report can help quiet things down as Boston prepares for training camp and opening night.
