No. 8 Freed-Hardeman men rout Phoenix 102-61

No. 8 Freed-Hardeman's men routed Cumberland 102-61 Thursday night at the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena/Cliff Ellis Court.

The Lions (22-4, 9-2 Mid-South Conference) got off to a strong start and blew it open rather quickly shooting 66.6% from the field and draining 12 3-pointers. Freed forced Cumberland into 16 turnovers that translated into 18 points while leading wire-to-wire.

Freed-Hardeman had five scorers in double-figures led by Chase Fiddler with 18 points. Fiddler went 6-for-9 from the field with four threes and posted four assists. Sam Powell scored 13 points off the bench with three triples. Peyton Law notched 12 points, eight boards, and five assists. Phil Horton and Hunter Scurlock each scored 10 points a piece.

Cumberland (6-18, 2-8 MSC) was short-handed during the game only having 10 players dressed. The Phoenix struggled from the field shooting 32.1% and went 8-for-30 from 3. CU only got to the line nine times and made just three free throws.

Jaheim Berry and Kamarie Coffey were the two Cumberland players in double-figures. Berry led the team in scoring with 13 points on three triples. Coffey posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Beljwok Adiang scored nine points with six rebounds. Demarius Boyd was held to just eight points on 4-of-16 shooting. Keyshawn Robinson scored six points with a game-high 10 rebounds and five steals.

Cumberland will be on the road today as the Phoenix take on Bethel. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m. in McKenzie.
