The Sacramento Kings continue to take their chances with Wildcats. The Kings took De'Aaron Fox with the fifth pick in the NBA Draft.

Fox was the third point guard taken in the NBA Draft behind Markelle Fultz (76ers) and Lonzo Ball (Lakers).

Fox becomes John Calipari's 22nd first rounder since he took over at Kentucky in 2010. The last time UK had a player taken fifth overall was DeMarcus Cousins in 2010. He was also selected by the Kings but was traded to the Pelicans this past season.

Fox averaged 16.7 points, four rebounds and a SEC-high 4.6 assists per game during his only season at UK.

Fox himself, and those close to him, made a push to the be the No. 2 pick and to go to the Lakers, but they stuck with the homegrown Lonzo Ball.

Fox scored a combined 59 points, 13 assists and five rebounds. The Cats knocked out Ball's UCLA team in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Fox joins former UK players Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere on the Kings.
