It's hard to lose when you shoot lights out as the Ducks did Thursday evening.

Add in a ferocious defense and Cal stood no chance, as the No. 13 Oregon Ducks (23-7, 12-5 Pac-12) defeated the Golden Bears (13-17, 7-10 Pac-12) 90-56 in the first game of the last weekend of the regular season.

The on-fire Ducks set a Matthew Knight Arena record by shooting 70.6% from behind the arc (12-17), led by 5-6 shooting from Anthony Mathis and 3-3 shooting from Payton Pritchard.

We obviously shot it well from three which gives you a big boost offensively. You know Anthony going five-for-six, Payton going three-for-three. That's eight... right there. Kind of sets a good tone.

Getting back into his shooting groove pleased Mathis but he was more happy with the victory.

The most important thing is that we got the win but it feels good, you know, to finally have a game where I'm feeling it a little bit. So I mean it was just a lot of fun.

As per usual with Dana Altman coached teams, the Ducks used their defense to force tough shots and get out in transition, including a highlight dunk from freshman CJ Walker. Oregon outrebounded Cal by seven and held the Bears to 35.7% from the field, with only two Cal players getting into double figures. Oregon doubled that with four players scoring double digits.

Next up: The Ducks host the Stanford Cardinal at 8:00 PT at Matthew Knight Arena with a chance to clinch a share of the Pac-12 regular-season championship and it'll be Senior Night for Payton Pritchard, Anthony Mathis, and Shakur Juiston.
