N'Keal Harry 'jumped out of bed' when he was traded originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

N'Keal Harry is thrilled to be a Chicago Bear.

He had just finished his first workout of the day and was taking a nap when his manager told him the good news.

"I was actually asleep and my manager was at my house and he came downstairs," Harry said. "[He] told me I just got traded. When he told me I got traded to the Bears, I was excited. I jumped out out of bed. I was just excited, man."

In his first three seasons with New England, Harry drastically underperformed. As a former first round pick, he recorded just 598 yards and four touchdowns in his three seasons under Bill Belichick. Skeptics are quick to believe Harry won't be good in Chicago because he failed under the best NFL coach of all time.

Nonetheless, Harry affirms he put a lot of work into this offseason and he's "ready to let it show on the field." Harry is a big guy, standing 6-foot-4 with a knack for blocking on the outsides and going up over corners to get balls.

"Just being a big guy, being able to block, being able to go up and get the ball," Harry said. "I feel like that could come in handy and that's something that would really work well here."

The move to receive Harry was not a risky one by any means. The Bears gave up a future seventh-round pick to acquire him. It only gives the team the opportunity to recreate the first-round talent he once was.

"It really is a fresh start," Harry said. "A much needed fresh start for me."
