NJ high school field hockey: Shore Conference stars from Week 2

The Asbury Park Press is highlighting the top Shore Conference field hockey performances each week during the 2023 season.

Here are those stars from Week 2:

Kaitlin Brice, Wall

A senior midfielder, Brice had two goals in each of the Crimson Knights' wins on the week. Wall defeated Ocean 3-0 and Howell 3-2.

Marielle Montenegro, Shore

Montenegro, a freshman midfielder, had the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter of the Blue Devils' 2-1 win over Southern. She also had two goals in Shore's 9-0 win over St. John Vianney.

Jessica Schlindra, Colts Neck

A senior forward/midfielder, Schlindra had two goals in the Cougars' 3-1 win over Manalapan.

Colleen Ragan, St. Rose

Ragan, a senior forward/midfielder, had five goals and an assist in St. Rose's two matches last week. The Purple Roses defeated Howell 5-1 and Red Bank Catholic 7-0.

Sylvie Notine, Rumson-Fair Haven

Notine, a junior midfielder, had eight goals and two assists in the Bulldogs' two games on the week. Rumson-Fair Haven defeated Holmdel 12-0 and Red Bank Catholic 6-0.

Ella Gardner, Middletown South

Gardner, a junior goaltender, had six saves in the Eagles' 2-0 win over then No. 3 ranked Toms River North.

Emma Korenthal, Southern

A sophomore goaltender, Korenthal stopped 26 shots in the Rams' three matches last week, including 13 in a 2-1 defeat to Shore.

Caroline DeKenipp, Point Pleasant Boro

DeKenipp, a senior midfielder/forward and a Rutgers University-recruit, had seven goals in the No. 1 ranked Panthers' two matches on the week. Point Boro defeated Lacey 6-0 and Toms River South 7-0.

Evelynn Sernotti, Donovan Catholic

A senior goaltender, Sernotti stopped 29 shots in the Griffins' three matches. Donovan Catholic defeated Pinelands and Brick 2-1 and tied Jackson Liberty 1-1.

Ava Bocchiaro, Jackson Liberty

Bocchiaro, a junior goalkeeper, had six saves in the Lions' 1-1 tie with unbeaten Donovan Catholic and had 11 saves in two matches on the week.
