Nick Senzel named National League Player of the Week
Cincinnati’s Nick Senzel was named National League Player of the Week Monday.
Senzel, a former All-America standout for the Vols, was honored after he went 10-for-21 last week. He totaled two home runs, nine RBIs, eight runs one double, one stolen base, four walks, a .476 batting average and a .560 slugging percentage.
He hit a walk-off home run against Texas on April 26. It was Senzel’s first walk-off home run of his Major League Baseball career.
Senzel played for Tennessee from 2014-16. He was the No. 2 overall pick by Cincinnati in the 2016 MLB draft. The former Vol made his Major League Baseball debut on May 3, 2019.
