Radek Faksa, Joe Pavelski and rookie Jason Roberson scored in the final eight minutes of the third period for Dallas — with Robertson’s score coming with 56.8 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Rookie Jake Oettinger made 17 saves one night after the 22-year-old’s first NHL shutout for the Stars, who are 1-4-1 in their last six games. Robertson also scored the Stars’ only shootout goal and had an assist.
Scott Wedgewood, Yanni Gourde, and Kasperi Kapanen all had big games on Sunday while Washington Capitals defenseman Nick Jensen scored his first goal since the 2018 season.
The start was a problem and things didn't get much better for the Blue Jackets on Saturday night. The Dallas Stars scored the game’s first goal 2:24 after the opening face-off, made it 2-0 just 45 seconds later on a power play that followed a failed coach’s challenge and the Blue Jackets never recovered in a 5-0 loss at American Airlines Center. "I don’t like the way we finished the game," Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said.
